Parody Way is a set of steps running from Beechview Avenue to Rutherford Avenue near Goldstrom Avenue, parallel to and north of Hampshire Avenue.
It was laid out as Peach Alley in 1903 by the Beechwood Improvement Company.[1] After Beechview was annexed by Pittsburgh in 1909,[2] this name conflicted with Peach Way in the Hill District, so it was changed to Parody Alley.[3] It became Parody Way in 1914, when a city ordinance changed all alleys in Pittsburgh to ways.[4]
Bob Regan's book Pittsburgh Steps mistakenly lists Parody Way as "Paradox Way."[5]
