Peach Way (Crawford-Roberts)

This alley was laid out as Peach Alley in the early nineteenth century by Thomas Whiteside.[1] It appears in the 1830 map of Jean Barbeau and Lewis Keyon.[2]
In 1868, a city ordinance renamed "Peach alley, (Eighth ward)," to Quince Alley.[3] Taken at face value, this should have applied to this alley, which was in the Eighth Ward at the time,[4] but this seems to have been a mistake. The alley that actually became Quince Alley was a different one on the Bluff, later Quince Way.
Peach Alley became Peach Way in 1914, when a Pittsburgh ordinance changed all alleys in the city to ways.[5]
