Notes:Climax Street
From Pittsburgh Streets
Source notes:Ordinance-1898-19 demonstrates an interesting hypothesis that the formerly numbered streets in Allentown and Beltzhoover were named for Pennsylvania communities. But Climax Street is unlikely to have been named for Climax, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, as I cannot find references to this community from 1881 or earlier.
- Climax is mentioned in the Punxsutawney Spirit, 1896-06-24, [p. 5] (Newspapers.com 1000153082).
- Mentioned in Armstrong County, Pennsylvania: Her People, Past and Present, vol. 1, J. H. Beers & Co., Chicago, 1914 (Internet Archive armstrongcountyp01jhbe), but not in Robert Walter Smith, History of Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, Waterman, Watkins & Co., Chicago, 1883 (Historic Pittsburgh 31735056287661).
