Limore Alley (1909–1914)

This alley was laid out as Lilac Alley in 1905 in the first plan of Brookline.[1]

West Liberty Borough, which included the western half of today's Brookline neighborhood, was annexed by Pittsburgh in 1908.[2] The name Lilac was already in use by Lilac Street in Greenfield and Squirrel Hill, so Lilac Alley was renamed Limore Alley in 1909.[3]

Limore Alley became Limore Way in 1914 when a city ordinance changed all alleys in Pittsburgh to ways.[4]
