Ralph Munn Mall is the official name of the easternmost half-block of Mignonette Street, from Tamello Way to Whitfield Street.

As part of Mignonette Street, it was originally named Marietta Street[1] but was changed to Mignonette Street in 1881.[2]

The portion of Mignonette Street between Tamello Way and Whitfield Street became Whitfield Place in 1967.[3] The name came from its location off Whitfield Street.

The following year, apparently unaware that it was now named Whitfield Place, Keith Doms, the director of the Carnegie Library, requested that City Council rename Mignonette Street to "a name easier to pronounce"; the then new East Liberty branch of the library fronted on the street. Irma M. D'Ascenzo, the member of Council who presented the communication, suggested the name Ralph Munn Mall,[4] for Ralph Munn, the former library director.[5][6] The name change was made official in 1969.[7]
