Oriana Street

Oriana Street is the street running from the eastern end of Sunday Street north to Marvista Street, along the western edge of Union Dale Cemetery.
This street appears, unlabeled, in the 1872 Hopkins atlas.[1] It was originally named Overhill Street.[2] (Some editions of the Hopkins atlas label it Dover Hill Street,[3][4][5] but this seems to be an error.)
In 1896, an Allegheny city ordinance changed Overhill Street to Oakland Street.[6]
Allegheny City was annexed by Pittsburgh in 1907.[7] In 1910, over 900 streets were renamed to fix duplicates; in order to avoid confusion with Oakland Avenue, Oakland Street on the North Side was changed to Oriana Street.[8]
The current street sign at the intersection with Marvista Street says that this street is part of Sunday Street, but its official name is still Oriana Street.[9]
