Kelly Street appears in the 1872 Hopkins atlas.[1] The segment from Murtland Street to Linden Avenue (today La Schall Street) was officially opened by a city ordinance in 1873.[2] It is named for James Kelly, who owned much of the land that became Homewood.[1]
