Jabok Way

From Pittsburgh Streets
Jabok Way
Neighborhood Central Northside
Daisy Alley (until 1896)
Juno Alley (1896–1910)
Jabok Alley (1910–1914)

This alley was laid out as Daisy Alley in 1879 in a plan of lots that subdivided the estate of Elizabeth F. Denny.[1]

In 1896, an Allegheny city ordinance renamed Daisy Alley to Juno Alley.[2]

After Allegheny City was annexed by Pittsburgh in 1907,[3] this name conflicted with Juno Street in Oakland. Over 900 streets and alleys were renamed in 1910 to fix such duplications; Juno Alley was changed to Jabok Alley.[4]

It became Jabok Way in 1914, when a Pittsburgh city ordinance changed all alleys to ways.[5]
