Greenbriar Alley (1881–1914) |
This alley was laid out in two plans of lots by Ephraim and Lemuel Spahr in 1872; Ephraim's plan did not give it a name, but Lemuel's plan, recorded in 1873, named it Garden Alley.[1][2] It was changed to Greenbriar Alley in 1881 to fix the duplication with Garden Alley in Lawrenceville (today Garden Way).[3] It became Greenbriar Way in 1914, when a city ordinance changed all alleys in Pittsburgh to ways.[4]
