Beech Street (until 1892) |
This street appears in R. E. McGowin's 1852 map, labeled just "Street."[1] It is also unlabeled in the 1862 map of S. N. and F. W. Beers.[2]
It was named Beech Street by 1866,[3] and it is so labeled in the 1872 Hopkins atlas.[4] The plan of the Denny estate, laid out in 1879, includes Beech Street.[5]
Beech Street was changed to Beech Avenue by an Allegheny city ordinance in 1892.[6]
