Zona Alley (1913–1914) |
This alley, running from Moneta Way to Chestnut Street opposite Tripoli Street, was laid out in 1858 in a plan of lots by Verina Itin, though that plan did not give it a name.[1] It was named Zona Alley by a Pittsburgh city ordinance in 1913.[2] It became Zona Way the next year, when another ordinance changed all alleys in the city to ways.[3]
The street sign on Chestnut Street calls it "Zona St," but as far as I can tell it has never been made a street. The street sign on Moneta Way says "Zona Way."
