Wayne Street (until 1925)

This street was originally named Wayne Street.

It was renamed Wiggins Street by a city ordinance in 1925.[1] The new name was proposed by the post office, led by Postmaster George W. Gosser, working with City Clerk Robert Clark. They compiled a list of 169 street names to be changed in order to eliminate duplicates among Pittsburgh and its surrounding boroughs and townships.[2][3]
