Weak Way

From Pittsburgh Streets
Weak Way
Neighborhood Squirrel Hill South
Warren Alley (until 1910)
Weak Alley (1910–1914)

This alley was laid out as Warren Alley in the Viewland plan of lots by James D. Callery, recorded in 1893.[1]

In 1910, three years after Pittsburgh annexed Allegheny City, over 900 streets and alleys were renamed to fix duplicates. Warren Alley conflicted with Warren Street in Fineview, so it was changed to Weak Alley.[2] It became Weak Way in 1914 when a city ordinance changed all alleys in Pittsburgh to ways.[3]
