South 24th Street was originally named Caroline Street.[1][2][3][4]
The street was renamed 24th Street by an East Birmingham borough ordinance in 1869.[5] The "South" prefix was added by a Pittsburgh city ordinance in 1881;[6] see South First Street for more details.
