This road appears in maps from the 1850s and 1860s,[1][2][3] leading to the community of New Troy.[4][1][3] It is labeled Troy Hill Road in the 1872 Hopkins atlas.[5]

Mount Troy Road was originally considered the northern extension of Troy Hill Road.
