A Sailor Makes It Ship-Shape
That speck at the top of WWSW'S 253-foot radio transmitter is Harry Hagen, a 67-year-old sailor who is getting everything ship-shape for installation of the turnstile antenna that will be used for frequency modulation broadcasts. His helper father down is Nick Kostelac. Frequency modulation broadcasts will begin over W47P, WWSW'S sister station, at a date soon to be announced. The transmitter is located on Nunnery Hill, behind Allegheny General Hospital.
