AN ORDINANCE—Authorizing the acceptance of Stratford avenue, from Roup Place to Coral street, and the improvements therein, and declaring the same to be a public highway of the City.
Whereas, The owners of the property abutting upon Stratford avenue, between Roup Place and Coral street, have, at their own cost and expense graded, paved and curbed, and constructed a sewer therein; and
Whereas, It appears by the petition and affidavit on file in the office of the Clerk of Councils, that a majority of property owners in interest and number abutting upon the line of the said Stratford avenue, have petitioned the Councils praying that the said Stratford avenue as improved, may be accepted and taken charge of as a public highway of the City of Pittsburgh, therefore
Section 1. Be it ordained and enacted by the City of Pittsburgh, in Select and Common Councils assembled, and it is hereby ordained and enacted by the authority of the same, That Stratford avenue, between Roup Place and Coral street, graded, paved, and curbed, and the sewer constructed therein by the owners of property abutting thereon, at their own cost and expense, be and the same is hereby accepted and declared to be a public highway of the City, and the sewer constructed therein a public sewer; and the department of Public Works is hereby authorized and directed to take possession of the same and treat it the same as other improved public highways of the City.
Section 2. That any Ordinance or part of Ordinance conflicting with the provisions of this Ordinance, be and the same is hereby repealed, so far as the same affects this Ordinance.
