AN ORDINANCE

Establishing and Fixing the Grades of the Streets and Alleys in the Ninth Ward, and of the following in the Fifth Ward, viz: Liberty st., from Harrison st. to the Ninth Ward line; Butler st., from Pine st. to said line; Duquesne Way, from Locust st. to said line, and Locust st.

SECTION I. Be it ordained and enacted by the citizens of Pittsburgh, in Select and Common Councils assembled, That the grades of Duquesne Way, Butler st., Spruce alley, Smallman st., Mulberry alley, Penn st., Spring alley, Liberty st., Sassafras alley, Ferguson st., Taylor st., Smith st., Clymer st., Morton st., Rush st., Morris st., Baldwin st., Wilkins st., Carrol st., Lumber st., Allegheny st., Carson st. and Locust st., shall each be permanently fixed and established as designated on the Plan of Grades marked F., and bearing date February 10, 1851, signed R. E. M'Gowin, Recording Regulator.

Sec. II. Be it further enacted, &c., That the Clerks of Councils, after the proper acknowledgement, be and they are hereby required to certify on said Plan of Grades their approval by Councils.

Sec. III. Be it further enacted, &c., That the Plan of Grades hereby established shall be recorded in the office for recording deeds, &c., under the direction of the Clerks of the Councils, and the original plans shall be deposited in the Recording Regulator's Office, and (for the better security thereof,) the Regulators, or other persons, are forbidden to take said plan out of the office when regulating, except by duplicate.

Ordained and enacted into a law in Councils, this twenty-fourth day of November, Anno Domini, one thousand eight hundred and fifty-one.
