ON THE SOUTH HILLS.

D. F. McNair is building for Mrs. Martha Herman, of Smithfield street, a two-story flat on Darmar avenue, West Liberty.
The litigation over the opening of a public road between Espy Heighhts [sic], through the Snyder farm in Scott township, to the Banksville macadam road, was ended by a Superior Court decision last week affirming the action of the lower court in ordering the road opened. Its course will be from Potomac avenue over Maple avenue, to Walnut street, to Beech street, in the borough of Dormont, thence through land of Snyder heirs to Banksville road. It means a short cut for travel from Carnegie, Greentree, West End and Banksville to Espy Heights, Brookline and points in West Liberty. The township commissioners will start work in about two weeks on the improvement.
