Funeral services for Mrs. Leah Gensheimer Hetche, wife of Rev. J. A. Hetche, will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p. m. in the Lorenz Avenue Evangelical Church, Elliott.
Mrs. Hetche, whose husband was twice pastor of the Emanuel Evangelical Church in Steuben St., died Friday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Leah Hartner, 856 Estella St.
Mrs. Hetche was born in Fairview 79 years ago, and was married in 1892. She lived in the Crucible St. parsonage of the Emanuel Church in 1893 and 1894 and again from 1906 to 1911 when her husband was pastor of the church.
They moved to Ohio, after this pastorate, where Rev. Hetche was a member of the Ohio Conference until he retired from the ministry about a year ago. They made their home in Vermillion, O., until coming to the home of their daughter a few weeks ago.
Friends are being received at the funeral home of John D. Schaub Sons, 525 Brownsville Rd., Mt. Oliver, until Tuesday noon.
Burial will be in Freedom, Pa.
Funeral services for Mrs. Catherine Peiffer, formerly of Sharpsburg, will be held at St. Luke's Church, Carnegie, at 9 a. m. tomorrow followed by burial at Sharpsburg.
Mrs. Peiffer died Friday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Joel O. Mank, 314 Academy St., Carnegie, where she made her home.
She was a charter member of Court Gracem 493, Catholic Daughters of America, and of the Altar Society of St. Mary's Church, Sharpsburg.
Beside her daughter, Mrs. Mank, she is survived by a sister, Mrs. Mary Bragg; a second daughter, Mrs. Rosalie Brooks, and a son, Herbert G. Peiffer.
Requiem high mass for Fred H. Sossong will be sung tomorrow at 9:30 a. m. at St. Agatha's Church.
Mr. Sossong, who was 38, died Wednesday in Philippi, W. Va. He was employed by the Van Gorder Awning Co., Bridgeville, Pa.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary Polosky Sossong; a son, Fred Thomas; three brothers, George of Carnegie and Charles and William of Bridgeville; a sister, Mrs. P. J. Harty of East Chicago, Ind.
Burial will be in St. Barbara's Cemetery.
Requiem high mass for Miss Margaret Daisy Boyle, charter member of the Catholic Forum of Pittsburgh, will be sung tomorrow at 10 a. m. at St. Bede's Church.
Miss Boyle died suddenly at her home in Dalzell Place Friday.
Miss Boyle was born in New York City, a daughter of the late Mary Ann Cahill and Henry Boyle. Her father was superintendent of the Pittsburgh Provision Co. at the time of his death 25 years ago. She was a member of St. Bede's Church and a resident of Pittsburgh 35 years.
Miss Boyle is survived by five sisters, Mrs. B. A. Greene of Brooklyn, N. Y.; Mrs. J. W. Brownlee and Rose Boyle of Jamaica, L. I.; Mrs. James Dean of Wilkinsburg and Mrs. Martha B. Sweeney of Cypress St
The body is at the McCabe's Funeral Home, 5300 Penn Ave.
Requiem high mass for Alfred H. Smith, who died Thursday at his home, 109 Doney St., Duquesne, will be sung at St. Joseph's Church tomorrow at 9 a. m.
Mr. Smith was born in Pittsburgh in 1886 and attended Old St. Bridget's Parochial School. For the past 33 years he was employed by the Carnegie-Illinois Steel Co.
Mr. Smith is survived by his widow, Jane Byrne Smith, a daughter, Rita Virginia, and a son, Clair Byrne Smith.
Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Mrs. Elvira McGinley Grierson, a native of Patton Twp., died yesterday at her home in Plum Twp. She was 88.
Surviving are a son, James B., of Center, Pa., and a daughter, Mrs. John Kemmler, of 916 Mifflin St., Wilkinsburg.
Services will be held in the home of Mrs. Kemmler tomorrow afternoon. Burial will be in Plum Creek Cemetery.
Services for Mrs. Margaret Rehman Snyder, who died Friday at her home, 2543 Kingwood St., Overbrook, will be held at 10 a. m. tomorrow in the E. B. Laughlin Funeral Home, Castle Shannon. She was 72.
Born in Baldwin Twp., Mrs. Snyder had been a lifelong resident of the Pittsburgh district and was a member of St. Norbert's Church, Spanish-American War Veterans' Auxiliary and the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Brentwood V. F. W. Post.
Surviving are four sons, Raymond, of Castle Shannon; Rolland C., of Ann Arbor, Mich.; Ralph P., of Hyner, Pa., and Gilbert J., of Brentwood—all of whom served in the World War—and a daughter, Mrs. Stella McElwee of Pittsburgh.
Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Castle Shannon.
Mrs. Maria L. Ebdy, a lifelong resident of Pittsburgh who turned the first shovelful of earth at the exercises launching work on the Mary S. Brown Memorial Methodist Church, Beechwood Blvd., died yesterday. She was 89.
Surviving are a son, John J.; a daughter, Mrs. Lottie E. English; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at the home, 6320 Monitor St., tomorrow. Burial will be in Smithfield Cemetery.
Services for Patrick Welsh, of 526 Hulton St., Carnegie, who died Friday of injuries sustained when he was struck by an auto, will be held at 9 a. m. Tuesday in St. Luke's Church, Carnegie.
Born in Ireland, Mr. Welsh came to America as a boy and had resided in Carnegie for 52 years. He was injured fatally Wednesday night shortly after he stepped off a train en route home from a district meeting of the Ancient Order of Hibernians. He was 60.
Surviving are five sons, Michael, John, Thomas, Martin and Edward; a daughter, Mrs. Mary McIntyre, and a brother, Martin, all of Carnegie, and a sister, Mary Welsh of Ireland.
Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Services for Frank Dummer of 3013 Hartman St., North Side, will be held Tuesday at 2 p. m. at Weixel and Novak Funeral Home, 3313 Brighton Rd. Mr. Dummer died yesterday.
Mr. Dummer is survived by his widow, Minnie Dummer; four sons, Bill, Louis, Albert and George; and two daughters, Mrs. Ed. McGuirk and Mrs. Herman Wilhelm.
