LOCAL BRIEFS.

Adam Moncer, the man who stuck a case knife in his throat in the Allegheny Hospital, died at 6:30 o'clock yesterday evening.

A six weeks old child of Mr. and Mrs. John Lyon, who reside on Dressing [sic] alley near Stanton avenue, was smothered on Thursday night. The case was investigated by the Coroner and a verdict in accordance with the facts rendered.

G. H. Gledhill made information at the Mayor's office yesterday evening against Joseph Laughlin, one of his drivers, who has disappeared, taking with him the week's receipts, estimated at $90 or $100.

Prof. Wm. Seymour, of Philadelphia, will lecture on "Phrenology" at the Secular Society at 3 P. M. In the evening at 8 o'clock, ex-Rev. C. B. Reynolds will lecture at Wilson's Hall, West Diamond, Allegheny. Subject, "Life's Duties." After lecture Prof. Seymour will demonstates [sic] the phenomena of "Mesmerism."
