Madison H. Bragdon, aged 45 years, died yesterday. The funeral will take place from the family residence, Neville Island, at 1 o'clock to-morrow afternoon.
Adam Miller, aged 62 years, died yesterday. The funeral services will be held at the family home, corner of High and Humboldt streets, at 4 o'clock to-morrow afternoon.
Ethel Gertrude Holden, infant daughter of E. T. and A. G. Holden, died yesterday afternoon. The funeral took place to-day from the parents' residence, Stanton avenue.
Hannah Maria Jones, aged 16 years, daughter of Maria and the late Edward Jones, died yesterday. The funeral will take place from the mother's home, 2108 Tustin street, at 2 o'clock to-morrow afternoon.
Mrs. Ada Fuss, wife of Christian Fuss, died yesterday afternoon, aged 41 years. The funeral services will be held at the family home, No. 157 Howard street, Allegheny, at 2 o'clock to-morrow afternoon. Interment will be private.
William Robinson, aged 74 years, died yesterday. He resided for some time at the Dayton Soldiers' home. The funeral services will be held at the residence of Mrs. Elizabeth Riley, No. 93 Howard avenue, at 2:30 to-morrow afternoon.
John Creelman died yesterday afternoon at his residence, 18 Meadow street, East End, after a lingering illness. The deceased was born in Ireland 49 years ago, and for many years past had resided in the East End. He went to Ireland about 18 months ago in hopes of benefiting his health, and returned in March last. The funeral will occur to-morrow.
Joseph P. Egan died last night at 8:30 at the family residence, 3238 Ward street, Oakland. Mr. Egan had been sick for some time. He was a very popular young man. He was formerly connected with the Times, filling the position of night clerk for a year and a half. He is a brother of Robert W. Egan, a reporter on the Commercial Gazette. Mr. Egan was 26 years old.
The death of William Murdoch, which occurred yesterday afternoon at the residence of his sister-in-law, Mrs. Maggie Murdoch, Wilkins avenue, East End, removes one of the pioneer nurserymen and florists of western Pennsylvania. Mr. Murdoch was born in Bally-Croghan, near Belfast, Ireland, in 1801. His parents were Scotch-Irish. In 1826 his father, John Murdoch, emigrated to America with his family. There were seven children in the family, three girls and four boys, William, James, John and Andrew. William was the last survivor. The family landed in Baltimore and came overland to Pittsburg by the stage. The father bought a farm of 112 acres and built a homestead. The old house still stands on Wightman street, Squirrel hill. The place was formerly called Hedgerow farm nursery, and was well known to residents of this section. On the death of the father, two of the sons, William and James, took up the business. They established the well-known store on Smithfield street. About four years ago James Murdoch died, and soon afterward William Murdoch retired from business on account of increasing years. A. M. and J. B. Murdoch, sons of the deceased member of the firm, succeeded him. William Murdoch never married. Until the death of his sister, eight years ago, he made his home with her family, and since that time he has been living with his brother's family on Wilkins avenue. He was one of the charter members of the First united presbyterian church, Seventh avenue. His death was the direct result of a fall on the stairs at his home Tuesday night. His system was too weak to stand the shock. The funeral services will be held at 10 o'clock tomorrow morning. Interment will be private.
