Correcting Local History.
To the Editor of the Pittsburg Press.
In correction of an article published in the Dispatch under the head of "An historical place," you might call attention to the fact that the Pittsburg Post originated from the Merchant and Manufacturer, published by Smith & Phillips. Smith afterwards went into business on Wood street, near Third. Phillips went to Peoria, Ill. Baxter alley was private property, the space now filled by the store of Horne & Ward. L. D.
