ALLEYS RECEIVE TITLES.
Councils Make Thoroughfares Strawberry and Cherry Ways. Mayor Signs Ordinances.
Strawberry and Cherry alleys faded from the city street directory yesterday afternoon to give place to the more dignified titles of Cherry "way" and Strawberry "way." Ordinances making these changes were passed recently by councils and yesterday received Mayor Guthrie's signature.
Abutting on these two well-known thoroughfares, which run through the heart of the business section, are some of Pittsburgh's most imposing buildings, and it was thought ill-fitting that they should be designated on the municipal map as bordering on alleys.
