This street was laid out sometime between 1872 and 1881. It does not appear in the surrounding Kitty Roup plan of lots from 1870,[1] nor does it appear in the 1872 Hopkins atlas.[2] The name Parker Street was officially established for this street by a Pittsburgh city ordinance in 1881,[3] and it is shown with that name in the 1882 Hopkins atlas.[4]
Parker Street was renamed Pierce Street by a city ordinance in 1910.[5]
