Pedro Way
From Pittsburgh Streets
(Redirected from Peach Alley (Pedro Way))
This alley was laid out as Peach Alley in 1868 by Benjamin McLain and Thomas S. Maple in their plan of Allentown.[1]
After the South Side, including Allentown, was annexed by Pittsburgh in 1872,[2] this name conflicted with Peach Alley in the Hill District (today Peach Way), so it was changed to Pedro Alley by a Pittsburgh city ordinance in 1881.[3] It became Pedro Way in 1914, when another ordinance changed all alleys in Pittsburgh to ways.[4]
