This street appears as Parker Avenue in the 1901–1902 Hopkins atlas.[1][2] It was renamed Peekskill Street in 1925.[3]
It is probably named for Peekskill, New York. Bob Regan includes "Peekskill" in his "Streets of Pittsburgh" crossword puzzle, clued as "A city in Westchester county, New York and birthplace of Governor George Pataki."[4]
