Notes:Sidney Street
Source:Miller-chronicles, p. 22: "The surveys name the original patents, Barry Hall, Bergen Op Zoom, Ormsby Villa and Mount Oliver. Many streets on the South Side still bear the family names: Jane, Sarah, Mary, Sidney, Josephine, Phillips, Page and Wharton; and Mount Oliver is called for his only son, Oliver; one of his sons-in-law was the well-known citizen of Pittsburgh, Dr. Nathaniel Bedford."
Source:Ordinance-1851-east-birmingham: ". . . , Fourth or Sidney Street, . . ."
Source:Harper mistakes Sidney for a boy's name: "Manilla st., Siam st., Tripoli st. leave one guessing, but anybody can understand the impulse that led to naming streets for Emily, Jane, Sarah, Ophelia, Louisa, Flossie, Virginia and Augusta, though it does seem a little unfair that only Sidney and John among all the boys of Pittsburgh have been remembered."
