Notes:Reflectorville Road
From Pittsburgh Streets
To do
- Find earliest use of the name Reflectorville—possibly in a plan of lots. It appears in the 1890 layer.
- Trace history of Warrington Avenue here.
- 1923 layer shows Warrington Avenue on the west side of Saw Mill Run Boulevard. There must have been some realignment between then and 1953.
- Any sources on what happened to Reflectorville Road? Maybe vacated for the T tracks?
1966-05-13: Source:Love-old-pittsburgh: "Mr. McKinley, a Brookline resident whose people have been in Pittsburgh for generations, mentioned 'Reflectorville.' This was a small community of perhaps 20 houses between present Brookline and Saw Mill Run. ¶ The name came from the shop in the community where men cleaned and repaired the carbide headlights on the locomotives of a narrow-gauge railroad that ran along the valley."
