Nice Way was laid out in 1929 in the Raleigh Square plan of lots.[1] It was officially opened and named by a city ordinance later that year.[2]
Charles F. Danver included Nice Way in a list of unusual Pittsburgh street names in a 1937 Post-Gazette column.[3]
