St. James Street

This street appears, unlabeled, in the 1872 Hopkins atlas.[1] It was originally named Lilac Street; this name was in use by 1874[2] and was officially established by an ordinance in 1881.[3]
The name was changed to St. James Street in 1901.[4] Just a few months later, today's Lilac Street in Greenfield and Squirrel Hill was officially recorded as part of the Beechwood Boulevard plan.[5]
