Jesup Alley (1910–1914) |
This alley was laid out as Jane Alley in 1907 in a plan of lots by James W. McFarland.[1]
Allegheny City was annexed by Pittsburgh later that year,[2] after which Jane Alley conflicted with Jane Street on the South Side. Over 900 streets and alleys were renamed in 1910 to fix such duplicates; Jane Alley was changed to Jesup Alley.[3] It became Jesup Way in 1914 when an ordinance changed all alleys in Pittsburgh to ways.[4]
