Henry Street (until ca. 1868) |
The block of this street between modern 48th Street and 49th Street appears as Henry Street in maps from the 1850s and 1860s.[1][2]
Lawrenceville was annexed by the city of Pittsburgh in 1868.[3] An ordinance to open Harrison Street from Mill Street (modern 48th Street) to Shoenberger Street (modern 47th Street) was passed by Pittsburgh City Councils that same year.[4] This ordinance seems to have been repealed in 1870,[5] but the street was opened anyway.[6][7]
