Harris Avenue was laid out in 1901 as part of the West Pittsburg Terrace plan of lots.[1] Chartiers Township (including Westwood) was annexed by Pittsburgh in 1921,[2] and Harris Avenue was officially established as a Pittsburgh street name by a city ordinance the following year.[3]
