Gettysburg Street is named for the Battle of Gettysburg, fought in 1863 during the American Civil War.[1][2][3][4]:184
Bob Regan includes "Gettysburg" in a list of streets named for cities.[4]:65 It is true that the Civil War battle is named for Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, but the significance of the street name is the battle, not the town.
