Carron Street

From Pittsburgh Streets
Carron Street
Neighborhood Shadyside
Origin of name Modification of Catharine, its original name
Catharine Street (until 1881)

This street was laid out as Catharine Street in the plan of the estate of John Aiken, recorded in 1871.[1]

In 1881, a city ordinance renamed many streets to fix duplicates; this street was changed to Carron Street.[2] This name is probably just a modification of Catharine.
