Augusta Street

From Pittsburgh Streets
Augusta Street
Neighborhood Duquesne Heights
Origin of name Augusta R. Shaler

Augusta Street is named for Augusta R. Shaler, who once owned the land through which the street runs.[1]

Bob Regan includes "Augusta" in a list of streets named for cities, but he gives no further details.[2] He may have been thinking of the city in Georgia or the one in Maine. But there is no evidence of a connection to either of these cities.
