Union Street (until 1881) |
This former street ran from what is now Centre Avenue to Broad Street on the present site of the East Liberty Target. It was laid out as Union Street in 1857 by A. Negley.[1] In 1881, a Pittsburgh city ordinance renamed many streets to fix duplicates: there were six Union Streets (and three Union Alleys), so Union Street in East Liberty was renamed Ursina Street.[2] Ursina Street was vacated in 1967.[3]
