Jucunda Street

Jucunda Street was laid out in two plans of lots recorded in 1873 and 1880.[1][2] It is named for the Jucunda strawberry, a variety grown on the Knox farm (the family for whom Knoxville is named).[3][4][5] The strawberry variety was initially dismissed as worthless when it was introduced from Europe, but Mr. Knox experimented with many varieties and concluded that the Jucunda was best.[6]
