Owenton Street

Owenton Street
Neighborhood Perry North
Omega Alley (until 1914)
Origin of name The Greek letter omega

A short and narrow alley named Omega Alley was laid out in the Watson Place plan of 1894. It ran south from Dunlap Alley, an eastward extension of Dunlap Street that met East Street.[1]

In 1910, three years after Pittsburgh annexed Allegheny, the names of over 900 streets were changed to fix duplicates. Omega Alley conflicted with Omega Street in East Liberty, so it was renamed Owenton Street.[2]

Owenton Street does not exist today.
