Colorado Street appears in the 1890 Hopkins atlas.[1] It is named for the state of Colorado.[2] It is parallel to California Avenue, and nearby alleys once included Iowa Alley, Arizona Way, and Oregon Alley (later Overcliff Way). Iowa Alley became the southern part of Colorado Street in 1910.[3]
