Pacific Avenue was originally named Conrad Street.[1] It was renamed Pacific Avenue in 1890.[2]
Bob Regan includes Atlantic Avenue (and nearby Atlantic Avenue) in a list of streets named for oceans.[3]
Pacific Avenue was officially divided into two streets, North Pacific Avenue and South Pacific Avenue, on either side of Penn Avenue, by a city ordinance in 1915.[4]
