Broadway Street (1867–1881) |
This street was originally laid out as Broadway Street in a plan of lots by James R. Mellon in 1867.[1] It appears in the 1872 Hopkins atlas as "Broad St.,"[2] which is probably an error; the 1876 edition labels it "Broadway."[3] It was renamed Bryant Street by an ordinance in 1881 that established the names of all streets in Pittsburgh and fixed duplicates.[4] It was probably renamed to avoid confusion with Broad Street in East Liberty.
