Shortages and Solutions in the
Motherglass Market. I wrote this paper for an economics
class my freshman year. At the time LCD computer monitors were rather
new, the prices were fluctuating a lot, and manufacturers were building
a bunch of new factories. Motherglass is the name for the sheets of
glass that are used to create LCDs. I read a few articles that
predicted the future of the motherglass market, threw in a few
economics terms, and presto, I had a five-page paper.

Compositions of series-parallel
graphs. This was my honors thesis, completed in the spring
of 2006. Its topic is part of the branch of mathematics known as
graph theory. The abstract reads: "A composition of a graph is a
partition of the vertex set such that the subgraph induced by each part
is connected. In this paper we shall survey past results about
compositions of graphs and present a new result which yields a
linear-time method for computing the number of compositions of a
series-parallel graph."
